I am a Venice Project Beta tester. And this morning we were released from (most of) our NDAs, so that we could tell you all about it.
The Venice Project is a massively funded attempt by the people behind Skype to get on-demand TV onto the internet on an ad-funded basis. Unlike YouTube, they do not have staggering bandwidth bills each month. They're using streaming p2p technology - each extra node should add back to the system the capacity it's eating up.
